Doris Cikopana represents domestic and foreign insurers and reinsurers. Doris advises her clients on complex coverage issues involving management and professional liability, healthcare professional liability and commercial general liability policies. Doris has extensive experience handling claims arising under privacy laws and regulations, including the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (“BIPA”) and the Illinois Genetic Information Privacy Act (“GIPA”). Doris’s work on behalf of her clients earned her recognition as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers in 2025.
Doris attended Loyola University Chicago Law School, where she served as the Executive Editor for Research and Marketing for the Loyola University Chicago Law Journal. Additionally, during her time at Loyola, Doris participated in the Health Justice Project clinic where she represented several clients in relation to public benefits and immigration matters. Doris earned her undergraduate degree in Spanish and Portuguese and International Studies at Emory University, graduating summa cum laude.
Doris recently completed a secondment with a large international insurance company. Prior to joining BatesCarey, Doris worked as a summer associate at a large hospital system.
