John McAllister is an associate and a member of the firm’s appellate practice, representing insurance companies in a variety of litigation matters on appeal.
Prior to joining BatesCarey, John was a business litigation attorney in Michigan for an international law firm, drafting motions and assisting in trial preparations for high-stakes matters. He also served as a law clerk to Chief Justice Elizabeth T. Clement of the Michigan Supreme Court and as staff attorney for the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and Michigan Court of Appeals.
John earned his J.D. from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law, where he graduated cum laude and served as senior managing editor of the Indiana Journal of Law & Social Equality. During his time in law school, he worked at the Community Legal Clinic, providing pro bono representation in family law and social security matters. John graduated magna cum laude with his B.B.A. in Finance from Eastern Michigan University.
