Agelo Reppas to Present Analysis of Certification Procedures in Federal Insurance Appeals to Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee in Upcoming ABA Litigation Section Seminar
Agelo Reppas will share insights on federal appeals of novel insurance coverage issues explored in her recently published analysis at the upcoming ABA 2022 Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee CLE Seminar.
The panel presentation, titled “To Certify or Not to Certify: Tips for Federal Appeals of Novel Insurance Coverage Issues,” will take place on Friday, March 4 from 9:20-10:30 am MST. Agelo will be joined by J. James Cooper and Rachel G. Snidow, fellow insurance and appellate practitioners, as well as The Hon. Jennifer W. Elrod and The Hon. Ralph R. Erickson, judges for the Fifth Circuit and Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals respectively.
The panel will discuss best practices for advocates when state laws are sparse and federal appellate decisions are not on point. Topics covered will include:
- Plans of action and advice for insurance coverage appeals
- “The rules of the road” in insurance appellate matters
- How to leverage creativity and common sense to effectively make a case to federal appellate judges
