BatesCarey partner Allyson C. Spacht will lead a roundtable panel discussion on developments in public nuisance claims and insurance impact at the Claims and Litigation Management (CLM) Annual Conference on April 3 in San Francisco.

During her presentation, “Claims Impact of Evolving Public Nuisance Liability Theories to Address Societal Injury,” Ally will examine the potential reach of modern-day public nuisance claims to address some of society’s most serious issues – from the opioid epidemic to mental health to climate change – and the coverage issues implicated by such claims.

BatesCarey partner Adam H. Fleischer will lead a presentation on the evolution of public nuisance liability theories and coverage impact at the AIDA Reinsurance and Insurance Arbitration Society (ARIAS U.S.) 2024 Spring Conference on May 3 in Puerto Rico.

His presentation, “What a Nuisance! A Discussion of the Evolution and Recent Application of Public Nuisance Liability Theories to Address Societal Injury and Claims Impact,” will examine how public nuisance theories have been used in mass tort litigation, whether such claims are insurable, and the coverage disputes involving these claims from the US to London.
