BatesCarey Expands Insurance Coverage Bench With Four New Associates
BatesCarey is pleased to announce that four new associates have joined the firm, deepening its premier insurance coverage bench.
The addition of Theresa M. Carroll, Melissa A. Sereda, Kyle B. Mitchell and Ranjini S. Rajan bring to 56 the total number of attorneys at the firm.

Theresa M. Carroll’s practice focuses on insurance coverage, coverage litigation, general commercial litigation and reinsurance. She has litigated insurance coverage and commercial disputes in federal and state courts across the country, and also advises clients on reducing and avoiding liability outside the context of litigation. She earned her J.D. from Washington University School of Law in 2011.
Melissa A. Sereda serves as coverage and litigation counsel to primary and excess insurers in connection with professional and commercial general liability claims. She advises her clients in pre-litigation coverage analysis and represents insurers in professional liability coverage matters, including D&O, E&O and other professional liability risks. She earned her J.D. from DePaul University School of Law in 2011.
Kyle B. Mitchell’s practice focuses on professional liability coverage, specializing in the areas of cyber liability and privacy issues. Kyle’s practice includes advising underwriters on policy language. He earned his J.D. from DePaul University College of Law in 2018.
Ranjini S. Rajan’s practice primarily focuses on professional liability coverage and insurance defense matters. Her past experience includes the defense of commercial airlines and manufacturers of aircraft parts in state and federal courts around the country. She earned her J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 2017.
