BatesCarey Hosts IICLE Insurance Workshop on January 25, 2018

On Thursday, January 25, 2018, BatesCarey will host a day-long insurance workshop to share practical and ethical issues that insurers face when handling claims. Sponsored by the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education, the program Practical & Ethical Handling of Insurance Issues will explore topics such as:
- The life of an insurance claim as it goes from initial claim through the defense of a lawsuit;
- How to resolve disputes between the insurer and insured; and
- Emerging issues including opioids, concussions and technological advances.
R. Patrick Bedell will moderate the workshop and present on the life of a claim and emerging issues presented by opioid and concussion claims, Michael H. Passman will present on the duty to settle and bad faith claims, and Kari A. Timm will present on emerging issues with new technologies including cyber liability, self-driven vehicles, 3D printing and drones.
