BatesCarey attorney Jonathan Walton will join a panel presentation on top coverage issues and policy defenses at the American Bar Association’s Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section (TIPS) and Young Lawyers’ Division (YLD) Section Conference on May 4 in New York City.
During his presentation “Top Ten Coverage Issues and Policy Defense Under Professional Liability Policies,” Jonathan will discuss trends in coverage and policy language and examine approaches to interpretation of the same policy language in different jurisdictions.
Jonathan, alongside two panelists from the insurance industry, will highlight important factors in ever-changing coverage concerns, including:
- Creative pleading by the plaintiff’s bar
- Fluctuations in policy terms
- Exclusionary language caused by hardening and softening in the insurance market
- Broker influence
