Jordon Steinway Shares Insights in Webinar Regarding the Handling of Commercial Auto Claims
BatesCarey’s Jordon S. Steinway recently presented a webinar in which he shared insights with 30 claims adjusters from York Risk Services Group and AIPSO on commercial auto claims and best practices for communicating an insurer’s reservation of rights.
Steinway discussed claims handling issues that typically arise in connection with commercial auto and trucking accidents, including the preliminary investigation of such claims, the identification and analysis of key insurance coverage issues, and the application of the infamous MCS-90 Endorsement. He also discussed the requisite elements of “effective” reservation of rights letters that best serve to fairly inform the insured that coverage for a claim may not be available, that prevent misunderstanding, and that ultimately protect the insurer from potential bad faith exposure.
Steinway is a partner at the firm whose practice is focused exclusively on insurance coverage counseling and litigation.
