Kevin Harris to Address Opioid Epidemic at the Casualty Actuarial Society’s “Virtual Annual Meeting” on November 11, 2020
BatesCarey is pleased to announce that Kevin Harris will present “The Opioid Epidemic and Insurance” at the 2020 Casualty Actuarial Society’s “Virtual Annual Meeting,” being held from November 9-12.
As the nation struggles to identify solutions to one of the largest health crises in American history — the opioid epidemic — the country and courts continue to debate who is responsible for the crisis as well as who will fund solutions.
This session will discuss the origins of the opioid epidemic, the nationwide opioid litigation and the remedies pursued by the plaintiffs, along with the implications for liability, workers’ compensation and other lines of insurance.
Founded in 1914, the Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) is the world’s only actuarial organization focused exclusively on property and casualty risks and serves over 8,000 members worldwide. The CAS’ Annual Meeting features collaborative educational sessions and keynote presentations designed by industry professionals to help attendees gain the knowledge they need to be at the forefront of the industry.
