BatesCarey is proud to announce partner R. Patrick Bedell was selected as one of Chicago Lawyer Magazine’s 2019 40 Under Forty Illinois Attorneys to Watch.

Bedell is lauded for his strong client relationships stemming from his knowledge of the law, analytical ability and problem solving. He played a key role in launching the firm’s Opioid Coverage Task Force and has become an industry leader in analyzing the unique coverage issues presented by opioid claims.

The Honorable Michael Hogan, a retired judge, predicted a bright future for Bedell. “Patrick is one of the most honorable men I know,” Hogan said. “His integrity is beyond reproach. He treats all with respect and fairness. He is very devoted to the practice of law and works extremely hard at it.”

Bedell was named an Emerging Lawyer in 2015, 2017 and 2019 and a Rising Star from 2012-2019 by Illinois Super Lawyers. He is also a dedicated mentor to associates, serving on the BatesCarey Associate Committee.

Every year for the past 20 years, more than 1,000 attorneys apply for a spot in Chicago Lawyer Magazine 40 Under Forty list. Honorees are chosen based on their career accomplishments and desire to make an impact in the community.
