Clayton J. Goldman coordinates discovery and claims strategy on some of the insurance industry’s largest claims and hottest topics, including opioid insurance coverage disputes, PFAS environmental claims, and sexual abuse and molestation insurance matters.

Clay received his Juris Doctor from the University of Notre Dame Law School. During his time there, Clay participated in the IP & Entrepreneurship Law Clinic, where he filed provisionary patents and consulted businesses about IP rights and direction. As an Executive Article Editor for the Notre Dame Journal on Emerging Technologies, he worked with authors to bring compelling publications surrounding topics of constitutional law’s application to emerging tech and healthcare. Clay earned his B.S. in Chemical Engineering at the University of Notre Dame.  

Prior to joining BatesCarey, Clay served as an intern for the City of South Bend Legal Department where he performed legal and policy research, evaluated claims and drafted memoranda. He also assisted clients on patents and trademarks as a summer associate at a Chicago-based intellectual property firm.
